The Core 4 Program

Core-4-ProgramIntroducing “The Core 4 Program”

  • A comprehensive mind/body program that helps you re-learn the support stretegies that have been lost through pregnancy, childbirth and life.
  • A restorative program focused on re-training during the first 8 weeks postpartum but ideally begun during pregnancy to help prevent and minimize dysfunction and set you up for a successful recovery
    ****Remember, post partum is for anyone who has delivered a baby****

The Core 4 is the team of muscles designed to work synergistically in anticipation of our every more (Neumann & Gill 2002, Hodges et al 2001, 2005,2007), Pool-Goodzwaard et al 2004, Sapsford et al 2001)

The Core 4 consist of:

  • Diaphragm
  • Pelvic floor
  • Transversus abdominus
  • Multifidus

Core 4 Function:

Ideal function is a synergistic relationship

  • Through contraction in a certain pattern we achieve,
    Proper Biomechanics
  • The core should anticipate and prepare us for movement (Hodges 2003)

Retraining must occur before training in order to prevent and treat dysfunction.
